Fabulous! ! Tremendous flow and remarkable self-restraint - the anger flows through like lava but I like how you put it into words instead, far more satisfactory! ! HG: -) xx
Eish! ! ! (which is a very african expression I have stolen to use rather than the f word) Well... what can I say - this is the first poem I have read of yours... it's just delightful David - lol..... actually it is! I had to deal with an absolutely awful person yesterday & I may have written something like this... if I had the guts :) Brilliant - 2/10... well it is gross... haha - kidding!
For some reason this poem reminds me of the following Shakespearean quote from King Henry VI part one (I think) . Instead of just calling Falstaff a fat liar, Princce hal calls him: 'A huge hill of flesh... A trunk of humours, that bolting-hutch of beastliness, that swollen parcel of dropsies, that huge bombard of sack, that stuffed cloak-bag of guts, that roasted Manningtree ox with the pudding in his belly' I'm guessing someone got your goat huh? Great run of vivid, venomous and vitriolic imagery... I'm sure the bard would be proud! jx
Great title. Has a feel like 'You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch' x 1000. -chuck
Absolutely amazing imagery, irony and comparrison, loved it David! Hey check out my poem 'Sir Cricket Finds Love' Have a good day, Loyd
A paradox for a withered flowers, forelorn butterflies and working unicorns in a realistic point of view...Well expressed thoughts...Love it! ! ! Cate
Irony of grudging admiration expressed graphically... perhaps not, but certainly a great exercise in rhyme and rhythm. Rgds, Ivan
This is very funny I like how the title is misleading and how the gross words used draw you in 10 Ivor
Strange...you hate someone`s guts, or? However, if I do not make efforts to translate it - it sounds pretty well - the selection of words by itself is well done :)
David, not too happy with someone, couldn't you have fit the daffodils, unicorns and butterflies in the last line? ? , Take it easy, Lynda xx
WOW. I have no words to describe this poem. I am speachless.
