Sunday Without You Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Sunday Without You

Rating: 5.0

It's not a beautiful day
Just gray and snowy
And I don't want to be reminded of yr smile
For it gives me no pleasure
But when, you are not here
I feel sad and want to curl up
With the warmth of a comforter
And hide from the world as tears begin to flow
Only yr smile can make me feel whole
The absence of it grows my discontent
And I am left hanging with a frown
While I start to get drowsy, the snow gets heavy

A heart wrenching read, this was painful to read that experience, but so relatable. Powerful work LeeAnn. I do hope your feeling better

A beautiful metaphoric picture of the incredible need of 'warmth of a comforter', so human, so deep and real. Incredible poem.

the simplicity of word choice and the grayness of the portrayal of lonely days---these are the hallmarks of heart-touching poetry-----a thousand kind stars and a fav
