Sun For You Poem by Olawale Oluwole

Sun For You

Rating: 4.5

In the hour of my aching pleasure,
When frustration coils around my hands,
I drift through streets of whispering night,
Through rabble and shadows that itch with longing.

Household plates murmur and weep,
Pressures pressing like unseen hands,
Yet my heart wanders in thought
As I lie upon a bed of restless clouds,
Buried in moods, scorched within my mind.

When your fragile smile falters,
When hunger grips my stomach,
And labor leaves my lips coarse,
Let the dark clouds part,
Let blue skies spill through,
Each breath a gentle refresher,
Each moment a shimmer of hope.

Flowers bloom in secret corners,
The future unfurls like a quiet ribbon,
Grasses remain evergreen,
And the sun rises high—
A celestial fire,
All for you,
All for your smile.
