Summertime Dream Blues Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Summertime Dream Blues

Rating: 4.0

In dreams I am able to see you truly smile
In dreams I am able to truly recognize your face.
To see, to feel, to breathe
When I am awake I have no idea who you are.
You've hidden in plain sight & I've turned everything
Over looking for you.
This piece of you that I've found in my dreams.
I've tried telling you about it,
I've tried giving it back to you.
In fear that it was something you've dropped by mistake.
In dreams there's no need to look,
In dreams everything's in plain sight &
Summertime is on your lips.
In dreams I am able to walk in the sun,
In dreams there isn't just a piece of you
That I recognize.
In dreams, it feels like it was just yesterday
I was this close to you
To see, to feel, to breathe
& there isn't a complaint about the sun
Going down early
Until I realize that I am not dreaming.
I've tried telling you about it,
I've tried giving it back to you.
In dreams, summertime is on your lips
And it's 12 o'clock noon.
My alarm clock goes off
Approximately 2 minutes before
The best part
