Summer Thoughts Poem by Adamae Liege

Summer Thoughts

Harsh though the winter has been
I dread the start of spring
for with the gentle season change
comes lots and lots of rain

Far beyond this frozen times
creeps in thoughts of warmth
sunshine, and grass of green
gets you through the storms

snow does fall, you best not look
your mind and soul might freeze
carefully melt the frozen world
and watch the blue birds sing

though flowers grow
and sun does shine
still you feel the cold
but still you must remain

silently seeping among the coldness
comes a breath of warmth
a simple seasonal change
which all welcome now

after the frozen winter passes
and all the ice does thaw
after all the flowers bloom
and showers pour on the world

after all the wind has blown out
and warmth replaces chill
after birds fly after storm
and music fills the air

nature takes its course again
thoughts of heat come once more
time has passed and cold is gone
separated from the land

and Now! What a glorious sight!
In all lanes of view! Beholden of all!
and all Behold,
the marvelous change of season!

for all the chill settled in your bones
quickly melts away
for now we have all been saved
for now it is Summer!
