Amazingly country. Just like you. Which is hard to portray in poetry, but, you did a good job. Barni, I think this poem is amazingly sweet. I like it a lot. You let your roots shine through, and I LOVE IT.
Barni, if you ever decide to go into country music, I'd like an autographed copy of your first record. You have a talent for pointing out the things people take for granted-like riding four-wheelers on dirt roads in the summer. I especially like the part about trying not to swallow grass seeds. It reminds me of trying not to breath when I used to have to mow the yard and the freshly cut grass would drive my sinuses insane. Nice.
