Summer like an eagle has swooped down
Under its tearing claws, the Earth shrieks and groans
The days and nights breathe out the stench of dribbling sweat
Roads rage and roofs steam like an overly heated pan

The fallowed lands yawn with mouths wide agape..............beseeching Mother Nature: Rain! more great writing: Sucking the last vestiges of grass and green In my ears echo the rustle of dried up thoughts..................yikes! and yet, Valsa could write under such ..............................................................................................conditions! ! ! what would a little rain allow? and last, but certainly not least: ...... trickle down into the paper I hold! to MyPoemList it goes. bri :)
Thank you Bri for your sweet comment! I feel honored by finding quite a few of my poems included in your poem list!
The Earth lies scorched under its burning breath An oven pre heated, hot enough to grill and bake How would it be if under each comercial add we'd have this printed down? A lovely poem dear friend hat off to you and your pen! Thank you!
Oh! I wish it were moistened by the waters of *Helicon And like a stream, trickle down into the paper I hold! .................no sweat its more than moist its flooding don't worry.......... :)
the happenings during summer is well documented particularly the land open the mouth wide! beautiful summer! the heat will strengthen the seeds and hearts to germinate when it rains!
This summer is an illusion that has a dimension still priding in its elevations undefined. The lamentation ending with a note of hope will surely bring a Spring in Your Mind eventually leading to penning down of lines lovelier ever. A good poem Madam Valsa.
The analogy of summer in and out is very pleasing.
The ink in your pen is trickling very well Valsa, I believe you have no reason to lament at all, a wonderful write.
I don't believe your pen has dried up Valsa, if this poem is anything to judge from. A great write, very inspired.
Valsa George, your poem to me was like monsoon, bringing in rains from afar, drenching in her was a boon, and it shall stay with me till winds decide to blow her afar. I love it.
Though Summer has swooped down on you you are surely moistened by the waters of Helicon and hence this poem finds a place over here.A lovely poem which i enjoyed.
A fantastic expression has been made on summer season as well as on summer in brain on a metaphorical base. The inscription is very interesting to read over and over again. The last stanza is much impressive. Thanks for sharing this gem.10
