Summer Day Poem by Daniel Miltz

Summer Day

Shy butterfly acts, peevishly
Sluggish with startled pride and vain
Groaning bright and questionably
While hot days dance, sadly, in rain

Yet, daylight sleeps, among, songbirds
In darker shades, and brighter lights
Reflections wink, past still waters
Drifting away in summer nights
