Suitcase Poem by Simone Harriman

Suitcase

Casting off skins of you
Shedding your reptile thoughts of me
As your lust glides
Towards her
Slippery you slide
From your snakeskin case
With tight-lipped straps
Hollow white serpents
Squeeze the threads of you
Like the coiled arterial ones
Crawling around my heart
Squeezing and poisoning
The rind of me
