My depression is as deep and dark and many mile's wide,
As the oceans I've swam, where other's have simply just died.
A little about the mental health proffesional people I've met
And yes I still see,

(cont.) done! with the poem i mean. interesting it is that i haven't read one of James'/YOUR poems in months? ? ? and now i read this. i wonder if you, friend, are still 'with us', sort of. if not, and IF there IS another life beyond the one you left/will-leave-sooner-OR-later, i hope it is one you can enjoy and from which you can keep tabs on your daughter and, OF COURSE, me! ! ! good luck. bri ;) (cont.)
(cont.) i HOPE suicide will be available if i really want to 'use it'. btw, my mom was put in an assisted-living complex, 'made' to undergo therapy and (i think) drug treatment for a while for DEPRESSION, which she seemed to feel she did NOT have when she took the pills. hmm? maybe she knew it. but she felt doctor(s) would not increase her paid meds, so decided to end it. she lived several good years in the. living environment. (cont.)
(cont.) James, count on me, Bri, to not think ill (no pun intended....at first) of you if you defend suicide for yourself and/or others. i support its use, following some formal or informal counseling to discuss 'issues'. my mom tried it in her late 80s due to back pain. partly due to me [which i regret], she was revived from a prescribed-drug overdose. boy, was she off! ! ! (cont.)
(cont.) i knew Sarah Teasdale sounded familiar! she was a poet(ess) who committed suicide after suffering depression and whatnot. Wikipedia has a very interesting section about her suicide, in which Wikipedia says her 'alleged suicide note-poem' was published years before she died. (cont.)
(cont.) HERE on PH he contributes (even if his poems are not, perhaps, widely-read. there are SO MANY of them! ! he cares deeply for his daughter's welfare, and (i assume) for his own. and why shouldn't he? ? ! He also comments on other's poems i believe (i could check) . ;) Gee, i haven't even finished reading the dang poem! (cont.)
(cont.) Perhaps large mental hospitals were a better solution? apparently they became too expensive for states to operate AND 'drugs' became more able to STABLize people's moods/activities. from what James has written in poems and maybe just to me, he is frustrated, understandably, living in a 'shadow world' between 'normalcy' and 'other'. (cont.)
(cont.) born retarded, or with AIDS, or blind? ? ? shall such be kept alive for a year, ten,80? ? WHO plays G+d, aka God aka The Big Guy (or Gal) ? btw, i don't believe in God, sooooooooo do we leave such decisions up to MEN & WOMEN? ? ? YIKES! but that is what humans have done. and so we aka society have 'allowed' James and millions of others to survive...a life with extra hardships others do not have. (cont.)
Are those like me not worth the investment it takes, To save these lives in need....THIS IS a good QUESTION! ! SOMETIMES i say people should not live to be too old, and i believe it! but what is too old? and aren't those who are too old able to be compared AND be judged similar [in some respects] to those who are disabled, not by age et al, but by DEPRESSION, psychosis, neurosis, and and a host of other 'afflictions'? ? ? (cont.)
(cont.) p.s. this poem may worm its way into August 2018's showcase. now it 'just' goes into MyPoemList. a fine one! !
