Substance Poem by Abraham Lawrence

Substance

Rating: 5.0

I regret to inform you
I'm so sorry to say
It's unfortunate to mention
those are usually the beginning of bad news

like water I can't live without you
Like air, I can't breathe without you
Like sleep, I can't function without you

my best friend, my lover, my companion.
My enlightened, my teacher my courage
My lover my strength, my death

I can't breathe without you
I can't sleep without you
but I know I have to let you go.
I know you are my downfall
my end, my destruction.

I can feel you in my mouth
I can feel you in my nose
I can feel you in my veins

the energy I get from you
the energy I get to live
the course I get from you,
the breath I get from you.
