David got this ball rolling with... Golden Foxglove (A Riff) My love gave me Foxglove tea, My heart raced so I had to flee Foxglove contains Digitalis; She saw me with A girl named Alice. Myke followed with this humble response... Alices (Riffing David McLanskey) All the Alices I ever knew were crazy. They would take me down a road to ruin. Too hard to run with, and I am lazy. I'd feign perplex, but knew what I was doin'. All those Alices would lead me down a hole Come hold my hand, let's go see the light. It was not like me to wander, be so bold. It was a wonder I made it back, all right. Now, when I see an Alice, I have an out, Prepared in advance to make my escape. No matter their motives, I am in doubt. I avoid them, regardless of size or shape. Perhaps I encountered your version of Alice, As I traversed along river, sky and trail. I bet I struck out, on a swing and a miss. No sign of thirst at the sight of her grail. Possibly your Alice was but a good witch, One you might meet in Oz, the colorized version. She might have been the girl of your dreams, Who am I to judge and cast cold aspersion? Maybe we should compare our Alice notes? I'll gladly contribute my who, how and where. Give it one more go at sowing our oats, Should we find a good one, we might share.
