the motif and the ideas in this poem are romantic and well thought out. I would have found this poem more powerful if I knew of a convincing argument that a single rose containing all the love that history knows. I have never heard this idea. The rhythm, rhyme and meter of the poem was very well done. But the imagery is hard to believe because often people give a dozen roses.. let alone 2 roses. This problem could be fixed by changing the opening 2 lines into a hypothetical. i.e. 'even if all the love could be in a single rose...' etc. well.. just ideas.. cheers!
