A great thinking poem.Sometimes in life it's a wee bit tricky to get a balancing act, to knowledge and learning. At the museum where I work and engage sometimes with Joe Public I dumb myself down, I put on a Lieutenant Columbo act so not to alienate people. I think we all do sometimes. Learning is an inverted pyramid of knowledge that grows upwards eternally. 10++ and added to my favs. And by the way Dominic... I think you did it sir. I think you murdered your wife.
Thanks Shaun...yes again very tongue in cheek...I don't get the reference at the end does it pertain to a film or something or is it symbolic/ allegorical?
Ah yes...I guess you're referring to 'The Shawshank Redemption'...it wasn't me that done it honest governor...I suppose this will be way over most P.H members heads!
The reference Dominic is taken from Peter Falk who played Lieutenant Columbo in the great 70's and 80's detective series. He would always say it to said murderer then demonstrate how they did it and their errors involved. A great actor and series both sadly missed. Hope that clears that up. Oh and he wore a crumpled raincoat and chewed/smoked on a cigar.
Ah yes Peter Falk...there's a great movie in which he features by Wim Wenders entitled: 'Wings of Desire'. You should check it out, if you haven't seen it already, of course.I'm currently writing an article, which I intend to publish on Linkedin, about it; that is based on an old essay from back in 1999.
Thanks Dominic for the heads up on Wings Of Desire I forgot he was in that. I haven't seen it in yonks, black and white set in Berlin and the image of angelic Peter Falk looking down on said city. I'll forget the garden tomorrow and make time for this masterpiece. And the best of luck on your article and I wouldn't mind reading that too. Thanks Dominic for the memory bubble movie reminder and stay well.
