Stubborn Ox Poem by Paula Glynn

Stubborn Ox

Rating: 5.0

A mature 30 year old and gorgeous woman
A deeply spiritual stubborn ox
Having lived a difficult life
Having endured hard times
Life teaching important lessons

From standing up for herself
In early childhood innocence
And teenage endurance tests
Other young school pupils
Equally as confused and innocent

But they soon graduate
They soon test the waters of love
They soon find jobs and careers
They soon find solid friendships
To last throughout the long years

Decade after decade passes
Taking from teenage monster
To 20 something travelling the world
Making her dreams come true
Finding passion and desire along the way

Finding personal and beneficial boundaries
Finding positive personal power
Finding non-angry assertiveness
Finding necessary negotiation
Finding emotional vulnerability and strength

Life simply never stopping
Trying to find herself
Life never sympathetic
Life never gentle
Life never easy

But there are hopes and dreams
There is a way to stop the violence
Stop the degradation and obscene
There is a way to stop the abuse
There is a way of life beyond confused

Being a stubborn ox
Not wearing a martyr's cross
Being self aware and colourful
Being truthful and excitable
Yet never being selfish or cruel

Self respect is the name of the game
Being kind to her inner self
Her soul finding redemption
Her soul here to grow and learn
Her heart here to spread unselfish love.
