Strong(025) A New Jerusalem ©/Strong Comments

Once again, the barbaric acts of so-called human beings, leads me and others to question the existence of 'The Supreme Being'. If you have faith in such a being, may he answer your prayers, and ensure justice is done.

Blake's 'Jerusalem' is a poem about the Industrial Revolution in England during the 18th Century; the poet reveals a sense of disappointment in the time and place he finds himself which leads him to question human exploitation and reminds the reader of christian morality. It's all about conscience and beautifully done. Danny makes some good points which hit home hard; however he deals with religion in a general sense and reminds the reader that more harm than good can be done in the name of religion and the value of a sense of right from wrong (which is more instinctive) should prevail in the present age - which is a fair point. I enjoyed it. Food for thought.
