Rating: 5.0

Like a nightmare when it came in my life,
I felt it too much and cried with tears,
Gradually it started striping in the dark,
Killing my worries and uncalled fears,

Akhtarda, WHY DID I, BRI, SEND A COMMENT ABOUT PAPPA! ? HA HA. IT IS IN REFERENCE TO MY USE OF PAPPA IN A PREVIOUS COMMENT WHICH I/OR PH LOST. bri ;) to MyPoemList, of course, though i'm not totally clear on the meaning. i'd use a capitalized Earth when referring to the/'our' planet. bri :)

(cont.) n. father,1680s, from French papa, from Latin papa, originally a child's word, cf. Greek pappa (vocative) o father, pappas father, pappos grandfather. The native word is daddy; first use of papa was in courtly speech, as a continental affectation, not used by common folk until late 18c.

(cont.) but the last stanza baffles me. who/what is Sweetheart? ? it sounds like Sweetheart and Loneliness are NOT the same in the old person's mind. hmm? ? and please change striping to stripping or explain to me WHY you used striping/stripe. this is very poetic, but..... bri :)

(cont.) a favorite stanza: And when I looked in her starry eyes, In a pin drop silence heard heavenly rings, Being vanished in her magic arms, I found I can fly by using her wings, (cont.)

ok, the speaker is old and lonely and Loneliness is at first is VERY bothersome, but, with times becomes less so and eventually becomes pleasant to experience, perhaps due to senile imaginings about Loneliness being an alluring, 'sexy? ' being, taking the speaker to unknown heights of pleasure, stripping (not striping, i think!) , but NOT COMPLETELY. in other words Loneliness is somewhat of a tease(r) . (cont.) i'll try reconstructing more 'missing' comment.

(cont.) maybe enough ice cream would soothe my loneliness, but I'd blow up like a balloon, unless i became bulimic. i don't understand: : : Still there are few who break the silence, and last stanza puzzles me. who/what is Sweetheart? a very poetic poem, but i desire some clarification, please. bri :) to MyPoemList

(cont.) i guess, with the right frame of mind, and enough food, sleep, and good health, old (as well as young) people can find happiness in loneliness! but if i didn't have a people-presence, i'd at least have to have PoemHunter, friends to call, or a book to read. But THOSE are more or less people-presences! (cont.)

Akhtar, i noticed on Hazel's site that she'd read this and liked it so i came to take a look. a few things 'bugged me', including PH always wanting to rush on to another poem before i could do what i was trying to do here! ! ! it happened even when i stopped the inconvenient 'time-line (i'll call it) under the fancy-boxed text above the 'real poem'. ; ( (cont.)

(cont.) and the illustration still confounds me. is the poem saying that loneliness, like a mystical alluring figure is a comfort to old people? i read the topics: loneliness, old age. to MyPoemList [if stripping is correct]. (cont.)

does no reader but i feel Akhtar means stripping, as in taking clothing off oneself..or another, and not striping, as in making stripes, like in the U.S. flag's red & white stripes? ? ! or am i mistaken? OR is it a British English spelling? (cont.)
