Strength, Courage, Love
Strength is a small and shaking hand,
though pressed by the cooing voice of a lying foe,
still refuses to yield to its demand,
And will not let the light of truth go.
Courage is a shivering heart,
that stands against cunning tricksters who beg it to do wrong,
that turns away from the deceiver's art,
and in commitment and belief refuses to go along.
Love is a life of promise and of creed,
that holds fast not caring that it's dying,
that supports, encourages, and protects even as the body bleeds,
that doesn't release its grip and never stops trying.
Strength, courage, and love is a soul that knows what is true,
that doesn't give up the fight,
that is surrounded by the night, having lost everyone it knew,
that doesn't betray what is right.
I love this wonderful presentation of courage and love and you combine the lines so well in the las stanza! ! ! !
