Street Oddity Poem by Humulkhair Abdulmumeen

Street Oddity

We are children of
neither relatives nor relations
that tries to be streetwise
regardless of our various
family background

We are children with
unfulfilled dreams and
probable wish and hope
who builds it's family
and associates on the street

We are children that
needs care but were
denied of it. We
indulge ourselves into
child-adult activities
for survival

We are children neglected
and needs justice on
our denied rights of
living a better life like
others do

We are children that
are necessitated as part
of the country but spends
most of our days engaged
in child labor yet to
retire to a stinking and
sticky places and even
on squeezed spaced
cardboard

We are children of brighter
future and great dreams
around the globe but seems
to be burden to the society
