Strawberries Eyes Poem by Thomas Dooley

Strawberries Eyes

Remember that winter night
In the snow, we would play
Catching snowflakes on our tongues
That was the time we felt so young

Strawberry eyes
So sweet the way you look at me
With a childlike smile light up the night
Strawberry eyes
Hope the snow don't melt
Because the warmth of loving friendship

This snowman we made will he be the third wheel
Getting between me and you
You got the carrot I have the two eyes of coal
If we give him a smile will you leave me for him
You wanted to call him Jimmie
I wanted to call him Christopher
Rap a purple scarf around his neck
If he came to life, we can call him PRINCE

Strawberry eyes
You were so beautiful that winter night
The warmth was just right
Strawberry eyes
You took my hand I pulled you close
I hope these feelings inside are not a lie
