Strange Love Poem by Christopher Cariad

Strange Love

I show my love in a strange way
Masked under sarcasm and insults.
For those I love, I push them
Harder to be the best.
Sounds like a very strange way to love another.
Wanting them to push themselves to
The very top, and drag them down
With the words meant to have no meaning.
I can’t help it’s the only way I was taught
Or that I fear of opening up.
But seeing that what I say hurts them
And failing in changing my ways hurts me,
So much.
I just lack this power to change.

It's never too late to try again...words are ever powerful....the one's hardest to forget are those spoken harshly....the ones remembered easiest...those offered kindly. Waste no time in speaking what the heart holds...ever fleeting the chance. What an honest write...Bravo! PEACE
