Stow Thrones Poem by Pleasant Dabbs

Stow Thrones

A tribal queen in her specially decorated grass hut
Received all her subjects requesting financial aide
One subject came by for help to pay off his debts
Denying his request she told him to work harder
Next day he walked by her hut and she wasn't there
He stole her solid gold throne to pawn it
And pay off his creditors
The queen returned and saw her throne missing
She walked by his hut, the throne was inside
She lit a match and burned his ‘home' down to the ground
Had her throne carried back to its rightful place
Moral: "People who live in grass houses shouldn't stow thrones"
