Story: Being Lost. And Finding Myself. Poem by Erika Michelle

Story: Being Lost. And Finding Myself.

Rating: 4.5

drifting in the muddy clouds,
i wipe the blood from my eyes.
i scream out in painful delight.
where is my life?
where have i gone?
i can't find myself and i'm lost in the dark.
words escape me.

I want you by my side.
i want you here.
I don't want to be by myself,
I can only think of the night.

fading...
in and out...
of conscienceness..
i breath.
gasping for air but there is none.
.....i'm....
suffocating.

as i fall toward the end of the circle,
i can see your arms reach out for me.
i scream so frantically.
i am panicked.
living on the thread of terror i open myself to you.
in those few gasps of oxygen,
i say your name and you save me from myself.

Touching the end of my life,
my soul drops and sits at my feet.
I have no life,

breath.

breath.

My eyelashes collect snow, and my hands are on fire.
I open my eyes to see yours.
I'm home.
