Storm Doris Poem by Alison Gaff

Storm Doris

This morning it is wet and wild
Just like the weatherman said
It is the fault of Storm Doris
Wish I could stay in bed

The winds coming in wintery blasts
Bringing with it driving rain
Surface waters begin to build
Wish I had caught the train

@Doris@ has already swept Ireland
And parts of Scotland too
All along the western coasts
You'll probably get wet through

If 'Doris' decides to take it slow
She'll probably cause bad flooding
Then upon the higher ground
Could bring lots of snow a fluttering

But for now she's quite content
Just to batter coastal parts
And we must hope as she goes east
Not too much damage she imparts
