Rating: 5.0

There is music slumbering in me
Alas, when I try to pour it out
All that comes out is dead silence
As one with a stone for a tongue

Each time when I make an effort All I experience is dull vacancy! Can I ever summon from the abyss, The notes of a melody frozen inside! -Excellent poetic expression! My great pleasure reading this beautiful piece of work time and again!

A splendid poem that expressed the sense of stony silence within. We all experience this feeling when we want to sing our song but no melodies come out just empty silence. Wonderfully done.10

Beautifully expressed. I think every poet n artist can relate to it. There are moments when you feel shut out from everything, from all life n experience nothing but silence. But though u r experiencing silence, the reader can hear the music of your heart. A big 10.

Sometimes we do feel dull, bored, and even dejected for some reason...it is human nature and we get over that after a short while mostly....in this poem you have actually sung your words...it sounds musical...in fact all your poems sound musical...great work

Frustration often leads to good poetry, Valsa. That's one benefit. But as regards the music in you - I hope some trigger will make it flow again. Otherwise, can you play an instrument? Even something simple like a recorder can be a lot of fun to play, and it's not hard to learn. (And not expensive) .

To the question in the last stanza, Valsa, I think they will. Your muse will come and the music find the words and form. Be blessed and inspired, Valsa! -Glen

It has been beautifully inscribed about frustration in this poem in an unique penmanship. Whatever the dark night is it must get morning. Twinkling fireflies will dance once more in the unlit night air. Marvelous poem shared.

This piece resonates for me.There are times despite our utmost efforts to do something we can not pull our acts together leaving us frustrated. But everything is in God's own time and we will be able to tune in everything. A magnificent piece beautifully crafted and well executed.10

In those moments of silence, I believe, it is the process of extracting the essence, filtering the thoughts and emotions, impressions and imaginations, adjusting to our own nature, which later are going to emerge in the creative process: in poems. Already a poem has emerged: this poem; which could be a continuation of more poems to come. A great poem on the process of creative writing!

Silence will be the source for all the songs. One must only imagine to sing in tune with like birds on the tree tops.

I really enjoyeed your poem Valsa as poems about blocks to creativity resonate so well with me. I always feel a little relieved...I'm not the only one (writing that is...I'm not a good singer) . How frustrating, it is when trying to force creativity Sometimes, for me, a poem can be totally lost in translation when trying to match words to a theme going on inside my head.

An emotional write! Sometimes, it happens to every artist! Hope you will come out of this temporary discomfort soon! You are born with a purpose.. God has gifted you something! When a veteran temporarily ceases to perform he/she can guide youngsters! Stay always blessed dear madam!
