Stone Cold Poem by Sven Rhoads

Stone Cold

Don't speak to me of angels
They have abandoned long ago
Don't speak to me of heaven
I can already feel the burn

My heart doesn't beat in my chest
The soulmate dream was laid to rest
I am in this world to walk alone
Everyday a little more I'm cold as stone

I need to forge a future from the fire
When the parasites just want it all
Somewhere my home is calling me
Beyond the shadows of the fall

My mind is a battlefield
And beneath my skin's a war zone
Wounds run deep where you can see
Where my being is turning into stone

I tried to see it your way
But it was full of such rejection
Try for once to see it my way
I'm scraping bottom and doing the best I can

I cant fit into your mold
Everyday I'm growing cold
Facts are facts, I walk alone
My heart is resting beside a stone
