Still Wishing Poem by puti ira

Still Wishing

Rating: 5.0

I watched the sun slowly
rise above a sleepy horizon
painting the sky in magenta
and goldenrod

I watched morning glories
gently open their yawning
petals of blue and white
greeting the new day

I watched sparrows happily
flit from tree to tree singing
their beautiful springtime
song to the world

As I watched myself
standing here all alone
still wishing I were sharing
all of this with you
