Hmmm....find it so amazing that some people are so fascinated by the plight of another. Interesting poem.

There are some things I like about this poem. I like the title and some of the word choices. I also like that the mother isn't necessarily protecting the speaker from seeing a horrible accident, but from the representation of what could potentially result from the father's abuses. This poem could have easily said that the dead woman WAS her or her mother, but went in a different direction. But I just feel like she's still hammering the reader over the head with what she's trying to say.
