Steadfast Friend Poem by Amna Haleem

Steadfast Friend

My little friend
Always there for me
Just waiting for me to come
Never judging
Never complaining
My friend helps me to forget
Takes me to another world
Over mountains and valleys
Under oceans and seas
To the mistakes of the past
I see the countless wars
Pass in front of my eyes
The blood of the warriors spilled on the ground
Splashed on by an artist
To adorn the ground
My friend is my teacher
Leading me through the obstacles and hurdles
I may leave for a long time
But when I return My friends always waiting there
Waiting for me to open
the pages covered in words
Leading me to secrets
Of other worlds
Of magic and the supernatural
My friends always there
Waiting on my table
Letting me escape
Leading me through
Never judging, never complaining
Just waiting there for me
