Very thoughtful and thought provoking. Social awareness is the need of the hour and what better way to express it than poetry. A strong message in just three lines. Bravo!

Thank you very much Nosheen. If we can kindle a feeling favourable to the poor that itself is a service

Yes dear poet, we are rich and can afford to celebrate the new year in sumptuous ways sans looking at the apathy of the poor people who don't even get a square meal a day. A prudent write that invites serious introspection. Top score and to my favourites.

Dear, dear Dr. Dillip, your sparkling comments really make me confident and proud. Our fellow beings who are struggling to make their both ends meet deserve our consideration and it should be our DHARMA too

When millions starve, how can we enjoy? A profound question. A relevant point. A powerful message for the new year.

The poem was born in my mind while I was watching the new year celebrations in the TV. Luxury and lavishness were abundant. All in a sudden a flash of the needy passed through me.

We could think like that for every celebration. It is a sad part of life. I think old customs were great when feeding hungry was part of every ritual of life.

Yes, dear poetess. As a part of every ritual it's our tradition to feed a good number of guests including the poor population of the locality

Surely it is sad. We should think about the poor and hungry and help them. Nice thought.

Thank you very much dear AKP. We should feel the hunger of the poor at least when we are at our sumptuous meal.

Thank you very much for taking my poem into the spectrum of your poetic surveillance. Caring the less privileged is still a subject to be taken serious by the beauraucratic views

The World Bank estimates that around 685 million people could be extremely poor by the end of 2022. Although there are some organizations to alleviate the effects of poverty still people are pushed to the lowest lows.
