Star-Forming Cluster Poem by Harley White

Star-Forming Cluster

A star-forming complex, massive in size,
is N 7 9 in LMC skies.
The image from James Webb Telescope Space
shares H II atomic hydrogen case
‘midst stars in the Large Magellanic Cloud
through colorful picture NASA endowed.

Seen in mid-infrared wavelengths that show
a star with an eight-pronged light pattern glow,
it's characteristic of scope James Webb
which has become quite a portrait celeb.
Known as diffraction spikes, these are brought on
as the light bends ‘round edges thereupon

while struts holding mirrors where they are right
generate spikes due to stellar's own light.
One thousand six hundred thirty light-years
it spans, in region of LMC spheres
southwest, where it's largely been unexplored
as have countless others in starry horde.

The scene we see has spectacular hues
that serve to inspire my poetic muse.
So hopefully it's been explained enough,
for the vision verily seems such stuff
as dreams may be made on from where we are
wistfully wishing on star after star…

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Some sources of info were the following… LMC N79 (Wikipedia) … A massive cluster is born… A massive cluster is born (ESA) … Image description: A bright young star within a colorful nebula. The star is identifiable as the brightest spot in the image, surrounded by six large spokes of light that cross the image. A number of other bright spots can also be seen in the clouds, which are shown in great detail as layers of colorful wisps. Credit: ESA/Webb, NASA & CSA, O. Nayak, M. Meixner
