Star Roots Poem by Trevor McLeod

Star Roots

Imagine that the stars have roots
just below the surface
Imagine that their shallowness
is not their talent's purpose

Imagine that they come to you
for all they turn to solve
Imagine that enough of them
would serve you to revolve

Imagine that they live for you
and that's not where you'd mind
Imagine that where there is life
They'll take the time to find

Imagine that they're everywhere
and you should seek their talent
Imagine that they draw the line
when you would end their valiant

Imagine that you never cared
where they would come to visit
Imagine that their everywhere
that you would give for licit
