The stairway to heaven, ah how brilliantly put. We expect something perhaps when we move on yet we are never sure, so I think your point of lack of control is fantastic here. Lovely almost lyrical flow in there too. All the best, Seán

p.s. because of the famous Led Zeppelin song bearing the same title, you might consider modifying yours a bit?

good to know there's a destination ahead and you relay that in fine rhyme and meter. only one nitpick with this - line five seems to need an extra syllable. my humble suggestion: 'as I pass each second by' cheers.
