Stacked Against Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Stacked Against

Rating: 5.0

How to forget you, O' my mother?
A better me today than yesterday
Hoping, for more better tomorrow.

Grandmother, I never met with-
Grandfather h'd died decades before
No photographs, not a click picture even.

Survives, your extraordinary love
Appreciations and blessings-
Keeping, me going on all the time
For thankfully, I'm indebted to you
Each moment that I spent with you
Sharing both our joys and sorrows
Together nurturing cares and dreams.

Afterwards, none else cou'd do or afford
Unadulterated and pure form of your love
Today, I'm missing that slice of my life
Everlasting human touch in fantasy zone.

It's not so easy to forget and bear-
As a make, standing alone facing truth
Where, all the odds stacked against.
