St Kabeer's Couplets 41: When Sparrows Pecked The Field Clean

Day by day passing days were spent,
No bond to Him was ever built,
Now that, birds have picked whole field,
Is not it too late to repent?

Given here under is the original couplet in Hindi and its transliteration in English Roman.

Alas, before you realize, time moves on, the days get spent in utter oblivion. And you never care to remember Him nor show your love. What use repenting when the birds on wings pecked bare your ripened crop in the field?
