St Kabeer's Couplets 35: A Guru To Guide Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

How I wish in this world so wide
Someone shows me the way to guide,
Saves me from the ocean of life,
By grabbing hair pulls me off strife.

ऐसा कोई ना मिले हमको दे उपदेस,
भौ सागर में डूबता, कर गहि काढै केस.

Aisā koī nā mile, hamko de upades,
Bhau sāgar mein đūbatā, kar gahi kāđhai kes.

Kabeer feels sorry for the mankind of the world, who finds no such guru and guide to show it the way, what and how; a guru that can save it from drowning in this ocean of life— by holding hair and pulling it out.
