The sun that rises at dawn sets,
A bud that blossoms wither gets,
He that triumphs would sure tumble,
He that hath come goeth humble.

Given here under is the original couplet in Hindi script, and its transliteration in English Roman.
जो उग्या सो अन्तबै, फूल्या सो कुमलाहीं,
जो चिनिया सो ढही पड़े, जो आया सो जाहीं.
Jo ugyā so antabai, phūlyā so kumalāhī,
Jo chiniyā so đhahī pađe, jo āyā so jāhī.
This is the law of life, Kabeer says: whatever rises, will set when the time comes. Whatever grows and blossoms shall wither. Whatever succeeds and triumphs shall one day tumble. Whoso has come shall go.
Topic: life, fleeting
