St Kabeer's Couplets 28: Blibd Faith Begets No God Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

St Kabeer's Couplets 28: Blibd Faith Begets No God

Rating: 4.5

If stone-worship helps me gain God,
I'd worship any a mount odd,
It's grinding stones that the world eats,
But no one as deity them treats.___________________________________________________________

Given here under is the original couplet in Hindi script, and its transliteration in English Roman.
पाथर पूजे हरि मिले, तो मैं पूजू पहाड़;
घर की चाकी कोई ना पूजे, जाको पीस खाए संसार.
Pāthar pūje hari mile to maen pūjū pahāđ,
Ghar kī chākī koī nā pūje, jāko pīs khāye sansār.

Kabeer says: if by worshipping stony idols one really realizes God, I would worship whole of a mountain. Yet, the irony is that no one worships grinding stones with whose help people get to eat. Mindless worship is meaningless.

It is always recommended to 'think' over the many teachings that nature silently leaves for us to ponder about, along with one's faith. Sir, please edit the caption of the poem, it should be 'Blind' instead of 'Blibd'.
