Squatter Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Squatter

I've sat
Same old chair,
same old clothes.
I was evicted months ago
excessive noise.
For the longest time I've sat in silence.
Still I sit,
Girl I love done kicked me out months ago.
Same old dark lights, same open door.
One day she'll come back.
One day she'll remember my face.
She'll remember the window of my eyes
come strolling back like nothings changed.
Until then I'll sit with my arms folded,
everything I own sitting behind me.
She'll remember the part of her heart
she loved the most,
She'll remember the guy she loved the most.
The power to the place been shut off months ago.
Any day now she'll have to pay the bill.
Any day now she'll remember this place,
The place I've squatted until her return
