Spring Vacation Poem by Dean Meredith

Spring Vacation

Her rose bush was in bloom
I noticed as I pulled up
Petals pink, open & full
Going beyond the cause
Falling to the ground
But plenty left up high & fine
Those long-stems
Waving in the breeze
Giving up their scents
Kissing the sweet air
Bathing ready for Moon
And her ceremonies
Silent and sacred
Half in shadow
Half in light
She kisses him goodnight
He rolls over
Snores within seconds
She pokes him of course
