Spread Too Thin Poem by Micron Jan

Spread Too Thin

I've given hours I don't really have,
Split my strength into smaller parts.
Every yes shaved something off me,
Every promise pulled at my arms.
I need a pause, a break in the sound,
Just one still moment where I'm not bound.

My body's tired from keeping up,
From carrying more than my share.
Sleep feels shallow, rest feels rushed,
Like I'm always almost there.
I need a pause, a break in the sound,
Just one still moment where I'm not bound.

I'm not empty—I'm overextended,
Stretched past where I can stay strong.
I don't need saving, just fewer demands,
Just space to breathe and come back along.
I need a pause, a break in the sound,
Just one still moment where I'm not bound.
