Spitting Sparks Poem by Kevin Maroney

Spitting Sparks

Slicing scissors, buzzing bites,
Whirring hacksaw, fizzing knife,
A bucket full of fools, knitted tight,
Nightmare hollow, strange might,

Crashing, gnawing, building speed,
Mind tumbling o'er mechanical steed,
progress sudden, line taught,
back and forth, ending naught

Swimming, wishing, pieces now,
Wanting, building, to the prow,
Desire masked in thoughts so cold,
Droplets dripping upon my hold,

Sitting quietly in the dark,
The sound of engines, spitting sparks.
