Speaking In Code Poem by Tom Squires

Speaking In Code

Rating: 5.0

Standing in the middle of the road
A thousand miles I'm walkin out the door
Sometimes we look for answers
In the faces of strangers
That come along whistling in the night
And a crackle from the wires over head
She roll on down this long road
Our faces still the same
And I find myself standing like a stone
When she looks at me sometimes
It makes me unwind
She walks on down the middle of the road
With eyes that seem like heaven
In her soul the tender night
That sweep across some corner of my mind
You know I'll always love you
But this face is all I own
And I find you there standing like a stone
