Rose, You've addressed the deceit by our leaders and the plea of a common voter. It's time we stress on commitment and accountability from the leaders we elect. Good work!

a poem that describes exactly what ordinary people want from their fairly elected political leaders? to keep to their pre election word! ............ and do what they said they would do. ..................well written

Hi Rose, One of my favorite writers in Malayalam (my mother tongue) writes: Does the thief who steals Zabur (the Holy Book) need to have cleanliness? Similarly, the politicians bent on looting the public and the exchequer as such, do they need to know the meaning of shame? A fantastic poem on the deterioration of ethics in public life. Let us hope many of the read your poem and mend their ways; Let many people like Rose Kanana enter politics and pray, let the public accept them as leaders. Let us pray: Lead Kindly Light!

It's irony of politics that we have no alternate but to vote for lesser evils. It's a great poem Rose Kanana. Your message is universal.

The service done by a responsible leader is beautiful, but self-serving leaders leave ugly stains on the social fabric.

And a Wow for you, dear Rose. Politicians just the same over here. All words and no action. A very passionate plea and very well written too. Not been to Kenya. Had a friend who lived in Nanuki though. Loved the Kenyan people, the real people, not the fakers at the top.

We are happy that you will feed idlers We are happy that the youth will have perennial jobs during campaigns But remember good governance is what we cry for Remember that vanity is discouraged in Holy books Dear madam-sir politician listen to your inner voice Before you voice your words in public. Beautiful socio-political message delivered in a nice poetic style. Great skill Rose. Thank you for sharing it timely. Subhas
