Spade Poem.... [word Meanings; Very Short; Prompted By A Message From Douglas Scotney Comments

Bri, a very rhythmic and enlightening poem. I took it for what it was and enjoyed it very much. In the last two lines I saw nothing offensive, you were just relating a moment of history when things were not kosher and people used words to hurt another's feelings. We have come a long way from that point as you have shown by writing this intelligent poem. Great poem and message. An interesting poem. Should have put a little more thought into the the last two lines though. But don't call a 'black man' a spade, OR his feelings might be very hurt............ It's not only the person that is being called a 'spade' that would take offence at this remark, Bri.

I agree with Valsa George. Good rhyming in 1st stanza. 2nd stanza rises in my gorge. Who do you thing you are, Sancho Panza?

To call a 'spade a spade', I must say, this poem hasn't risen to your usual level! Still not bad!
