Spaced Poem by Stefan Splawinski

Spaced

a stunned world was very silent
who could ever have believed it
the first irishmen on the moon
green spacecraft made from a kit

so regarding the return journey
the engineers had it all in hand
except for a small technicality
planned nowhere for them to land

it was at this critical juncture
that the astronauts lost all hope
praying for divine intervention
or the encouragement of the pope
