Southern Living Poem by Terry Searcy

Southern Living

Watching Mama fixin the daily meals
While Pa's working hard in the fields
Southern Pastor preaching about Hell and Fire
Your kids singing in the choir
A tall glass of some homemade sweet tea
All us boys working the soil planting seed
Gravel roads and red clay dirt
Thanking Ma for a clean white shirt
Picking vegetables from garden
Never thought about this life being a burden
