Soulgarden Poem by Balint Nagy

Soulgarden

[Introduction speech]
Have you ever felt that you worth nothing?
When you just don't find at least one thing on this Earth you good at.
Like you are on this world but you can't find the meaning of it.
Like your whole existence is pointless.
It doesn't matter what you do or what you achieve, somebody will always find reproachable things in your deeds. They try to convince you that you worth nothing and it's never gonna change. And you just don't know why.
I wonder, is it even worth looking for the answer?

So cold lonely night,
Heaven full of stars
Sly darkness sneaking in my mind
Malicious conclusions gaining ground
And bury me in bitterness

Here's the time to be honest
I'm tired of pretending I'm complacent
Deep down I just want to escape this

Negative feedback comes
I'm spinning out of control
The burden is crushing me
But I want to know
Am I really a coward?
Shadows are echoing:
'It's all because of you'

Nobody feels what I know
Nobody waits for me at home
Nobody calls me a hero
I'd rather be Dead right now
Cause there's nothing left for me
But insecurity

Far from my perfect illusion
I'm waking up uninspired
Still got the hole in my heart
Darkest thoughts rise and shine
Will the dark clouds swallow me again,
And shattering my confidence?

Here's the time to be honest
I'm tired of pretending I'm complacent
Deep down I just want to escape this

Negative feedback comes
I'm spinning out of control
The burden is crushing me
But I want to know
Am I really a coward?
Shadows are echoing:
'It's all because of you'

Nobody feels what I know
Nobody waits for me at home
Nobody calls me a hero
I'd rather be Dead right now
Cause there's nothing left for me
But insecurity

[Ending speech]
I must tell you, I had to get away. I needed some space.
You know, the so-called me time, when nobody bothers me and I can only focus on myself.
I'm standing on the balcony of this little woodhouse while the fresh air fills my lungs.
I'm staring at the mountain opposite, and I can feel its calling word.
This breathtaking panorama and silence clears my mind from every negative, doubtful thought. I close my eyes for a few second and think about what I have done until now.
Truth is I'm so proud of myself.
Still, the best is yet to come.
