Interesting start...as you have said your poem does give a sense of near-death experience...top score
Indira, thx for visiting and responding. If you wish to get a further sense of that experience, please read Soul's Journey Parts I-V.
Fear Rising Threatening Paralyzing Demons fighting For victory......you are becoming very much mystical. tony
Lots of things have been implied through a single stanza..Enjoyed it..
Thank you so much, Bernard. If you can find the time, please read Parts II - V. I'd love to read your feedback.
Richard, this is really interesting - a near death experience - a door opening to an unknown territory. Waiting for the series with much eagerness and a thrilling suspense..
At first Darkness Blinding Death is entry into darkness. Thank you Richard .
Thank you for pointing this series Richard! It is really impressive!
A near-death experience.... wonderful dear poet Richard......... i would like to read directly about this near-death experience........ did u feel that your soul escaped your body and traveled into eternal light........? thank u for this beautiful poem dear poet. thank u again. tony
Absolutely, Tony! Soul's Journey - Parts II - V, along with Poet's Notes, give my account of that miraculous journey.
Another door …Opening..To window of future……priceless expression so sweet! I love reading this beautiful little poem dear friend!
A near-death experience is an interesting topic to write a poem, but I think one experiences what he believes. A thoughtful poem.
That may be true, Akhtar. But there are a lot of similarities with OBE's from people of diverse cultures and religions. Thank you so much for your insights and positive feedback.
A remarkable style Richard very original and the journey undertaken from start to finish was intense and scary, a great start to this series of poems my friend
This is an interesting series to read. I read it yesterday but came back again to read this first one again...sort of cap it all together.
Thank you so much, Savita. With this series, that's a good strategy.
My poem You Were One Of Heaven's Golden Pearls was about my NDE..I can relate to this poem and completely understand it.Believe me it took me from 1980 until last Monday to write about mine..I'm glad I was given the second chance to live again..I saw my brother, Patrick who passed away in 1975 among other scenes. Good poetry.I'm French, too.
Looking forward to reading your poem, Lorraine. Thank you for reading and commenting.
Great to hear that you're much better, Barry! ! ! Thank you for taking the time to read and comment. Much appreciated!
Daniel's comment is as usual well thought out and intelligent and thought-provoking. I liked how he pointed out the structure assists the unfolding event and that using the present verb tense helps keeping the reader in the moment. I will wait to read the next part with anticipation of what will happen
Thank you, Susan. My intention was to make it as realistic as possible!
A great spiritual piece of work, Richard. Thank you very much,
Coming from you, that's a huge compliment! Thank you so very much, Jazib.
Nice one.... beautiful lilines....10 You shall remain alert And fail their attempt To subvert your mission With their wicked designs
Mehta, I saw beyond the darkness and into the light. In spite of, unbearable pain!
You abandon ordinary sentence structure because its formal pattern would give a false sense of security, and verb tense is anchored in our expectations of an undisturbed continuity. Instead we experience accelerated time, speeds that are traumatic, the ground of being collapses, and we witness the true reality of unrelieved conflict between cosmic forces. This revelation climaxes with the looming a-b-y-s-s, a terrifying entry in a non-human world. Or perhaps, even more terrifying, the abyss is the next stage of our human existence.
Perfect analysis, Daniel. And I'm so happy that I was able to pull it off. Considering the stakes! But this is just the preliminary stage. The next stage is going to be a lot tougher. But I'm really looking forward to it! I sincerely believe that the abyss is NOT the next stage of our human existence. But there are forces at work that are striving to successfully accomplish that goal. I think that it's part of my job as a poet to keep shedding light on this matter.
What DOES all of that (comment) mean? Ah, well, you, Daniel, have been declared dead now, so I guess O
......oops (cont.) to Daniel Brick...I guess you won't have to deal with my question about YOUR comment on the poem above. bri
Rich, STORY OF MY LIFE: 'Abyss waiting'! ! ! : ) bri Near-death experience? ? Cool. I'm waiting patiently for my Death Experience. REALLY. But I'm patient like a robin seeking worms.
Very witty response, Bri. Thank you. You've got a few more years than I before meeting The Grim Reaper. Patience is a good virtue to have.
