'All of them craving pity in sore suspense, Trembling with fears that the heart knoweth of. And thus,
I wish to translate this CLASSIC POEM OF TH by the great DANTE
I have enjoyed very much this Sonnet All My Thoughts. Very impressive!
Dante's Sonnet All My Thoughts in 14 lines a very impressive Sonnet, in the end he wrote about that Lady Pity for the help she brings.
The great Dante just like the great Dutch painter Jeroen Bosch of the same period, their lives are woven with dark elements, but that made attractive, beautiful and haunting.
BUT I must admit: all his poems and Sonnets are very impressive and a bit haunting me, and he oft wrote about (his) doubts.Like the Dutch painter of the same period, it is always darkness surrounding them
Addition number 2: and at the edge of a heavy nerves-break down, I have read his words in all his poems: the factor of darkness (and in that period of his life) is constantly present.
Addition: I am afraid I am the only one with an entirely different opinion, a very honest opinion, observed from psychological point of few: Dante was constantly tormented by dark thoughts
My Conclusion: I don't know what kind of reputation the world famous Dante had, but he was in the right age as a poet, the era of Jeroen Bosch (famous Dutch painter of the same period) and that of Dante
3) What I finally wish to say is that when he wrote this Sonnet: All My Thoughts, he was a bit in a much better mood, but there are constantly those doubts in this Sonnet.
2) Some assume he was depressed, others take it a step further and attribute suicidal tendencies. Both often go together, so maybe 'some' and 'others' are both right.
1) About Dante's Masterpiece, so not about this Sonnet, must I say: What tormented Dante when he wrote his masterpiece is unknown.
All my thoughts always speak to me of love, Yet have between themselves such difference That while one bids me bow with mind and sense, All about love, the great Dante
It is a beautiful poem on Thoughts by Dante Alighieri. Congratulations to his family members.
With any of Dante's writings I often wonder how much has been lost in the english translation.
Of love! ! Of joy! For the help she brings. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
thought dominates the sense of love but observation overlooks it hope weaves a pavement for a goal untimely demise cries there of mistake
In this nicely woven sonnet, Poet makes love a wonder emotionally, intellectually and poetically sure! Thanks for sharing it here!
